Foreseer - Future resource pathways

Studying at Cambridge

  1. The Foreseer Project Group at the Engineering Department, University of Cambridge has created the Foreseer Tool which is an innovative online research tool for visualising the influence of future demand and scenarios on requirements for energy, water and land resources. The basis of the Foreseer tool is a set of linked physical models for energy, water and land plus the technologies that transform those resources into final services.
  2. The Foreseer Tool is undergoing continued development and validation. Therefore, the data and results displayed in the Foreseer Tool should be treated as preliminary.
  3. Because of uncertainty in some future parameter values, no single run of the Foreseer tool can provide a definitive solution to the future state of the resource system. In order to facilitate comparisons between model runs, the current version of the Foreseer tool includes several uncertain processes, such as rainfall, which are represented as hard-coded time series. Given the real-world stochastic nature of these processes, no single run of the Foreseer tool is representative of the future state of the resource system.

By registering you can now access our Foreseer Beta version. Please note that the tool is still in development, all comments are warmly welcome. This current version of the tool is analysing California.
